The updated Tank 300 is 260 mm longer, has 553 design changes, and more than half of its parts are new. Why is this necessary?
- Stability at high speeds has been improved, and longitudinal sway has been suppressed;
- Roll in corners has decreased by 21% – this is noticeable on the track and in the mountains;
- The front axle has been moved forward, the front overhang has been reduced, and the approach angle has increased from 32° to 38° – the vehicle’s off‑road capability has improved;
- Weight distribution, heat dissipation, and handling have been improved, and the longer hood has enhanced passive safety in collisions.
But the main intrigue lies elsewhere. According to autohome, the Tank 300L was designed with the intention of installing a large V8 engine. Perhaps Great Wall is laying the groundwork for an engine that can take on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 192.
